Birthdays and Frosty Paws!

Yum! Yum! Yum!

My friend Romeo had a birthday! He’s now 7 years old. In “dog years” that’s about 50! ( The kids I meet ALWAYS want to know how old I am in “dog years” – why is that?) For his birthday he got some really good toys. He is very happy about his new toys, but doesn’t want to share any of them. But he will share his Frosty Paws that my Mom Person made to celebrate his big day. We love, love, love Frosty Paws. And I have convinced my Mom Person to share the recipe. Her recipe came from her friend Mary many years ago. We are grateful to Mary for letting us in on it all.

Frosty Paws

1 big tub of plain nonfat yogurt
2 or 3 ripe bananas mashed
2 jars of turkey baby food
2 small containers of applesauce
some peanut butter sometimes

We save single serving applesauce and fruit containers to put this yummy mix in. You could also put it in ice trays and make little cubes.
Just mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl and freeze.
The boys in our family like to lick, lick, lick. I lick for a bit, then pop it out of the bowl and chomp it. Yummmmmmy!!!

There are some good cookbooks for dogs as well, if you’d like to check them out!

The Three Dog Bakery Cookbook by Mark Beckloff & Dan Dye
The Ultimate Dog Treat Cookbook by Liz Palika
The Doggy Bone Cookbook by Michele Bledsoe

Check your local library and show your dog how much you love them!!!
